Promoting Pickleball in Wilmington and the Southeastern North Carolina area

Softball for Seniors

Do you miss the springtime ritual of pulling the glove out of the closet, pounding the pocket, and having a catch? Would it feel good to get in a few swings at the ball? Then you are a candidate for the Wilmington Senior Softball Association. The WSSA welcomes men and women over 55 years old to enjoy the game of slow pitch softball. There are three divisions to accommodate various levels of ability.

A 60-game season begins in April, with spring training already in progress. Plenty of time to loosen up the old throwing arm and stretch those muscles. Games will be played at fields in Wilmington/New Hanover County, double headers every Tuesday and Thursday morning.

There are already a number of CFPC pickleball players involved in softbal, including Mark Schall, John Sherm, Harry Marriner, Jack Little, Steve Hagen, Jim Ratkus, and John James. Ask one of them about the Wilmington Senior Softball Association. Or go to the WSSA website for more information. The WSSA email address is
